Anaesthetic Information

The effects of a General Anaesthetic may be felt up to 24 hours after it has been administered.  During this time you SHOULD NOT…

  • Drive a motor vehicle
  • Sign important documents
  • Drink alcohol
  • Make major decisions
  • Operate machinery
  • When you go home you must have a responsible adult to stay with you for the first 24 hours after an anaesthetic.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask the Nursing Staff or your Anaesthetist.
