A recovery room nurse will visit your child before he/she goes to theatre. 

In most cases, a parent or caregiver is able to stay with their child until they are asleep.

After surgery, once your child is awake in the recovery room, you will be taken to see your child and accompany them back to the ward when ready.

To minimise any distress your child may experience, we encourage parents/caregivers to participate fully in their child’s care while in hospital.  To enable nursing staff to provide an optimum level of care for your child, please assist us in communicating any needs so these can be attended to.

If leaving the premises, please inform the nursing staff to ensure your child’s safety.
